Dwight Pete Mitchell is the third of eight children born to Don and Katherine Mitchell.  He was born in Benton Harbor on March 10, 1936. He is married to Margo Featherstone. They have six children, six grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Pete served in the United States Marine Corps and graduated from Benton Harbor High School, Lake Michigan College, and Western Michigan University.  He is now retired after holding several high level managerial and governmental positions in California and Benton Harbor.
