Janice Harriet Baker (Mitchell) is the first of eight children born to Don and Katherine Mitchell.  She was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan on December 31, 1932. She was married to Francis Baker until her death.  They have three children and one grandchild. She is a graduate of Benton Harbor High School. Janice served as an elementary school secretary and finished her career as the secretary in the Audio/Visual Department. She retired from a successful career in 1993 after having a major medical incident.  She would say her major accomplishment, after helping with the children, is serving on the negotiating team of the secretarial union. She passed away at home on May 3, 2019.
